Gravity powered trains traveling through tunnels from city to city are a wonderful idea but are unfortunately beyond the realm of practical reality. The potential for gravity assisted people movers, however, is quite possible if practical engineering challenges can be overcome (see the short video The Ups and Downs of Gravity Trains). I’ve suggested gravity powered people movers, but where else might the concept behind gravity trains be used?
Why this blog about gravity trains?We have the technological capability to let gravity help us move from one point to another, but to do so requires some good engineering. I simply hope to generate some interest in the idea to see what we can achieve. ArchivesCategories
